Budapest South City Gate
We prepared a complex development concept and masterplan for an area of almost 132 hectares along the Ráckeve Danube branch, between Soroksári Road and the Danube. After mapping and analyzing excellent international practices on an intra-urban scale and precisely defining local needs and objectives, the design program was prepared. An international architectural design competition was launched for the program’s design tasks. Following the competition, a lengthy design process with the international architectural firm that produced the winning concept resulted in a unique and innovative concept for the urban area, including parks and squares, and livability-oriented urban built environments. This led to a regulatory environment laying the foundations for the volume and timing of individual construction projects.
